St. Marien Helfta
Das Cistercienserinnen-Kloster St. Marien wurde im Jahre 1229 durch
Graf Burchard von Mansfeld gegründet. Mit der Reformation kam es
1542 zur Auflösung des Klosters. Der Wiederaufbau begann 1998.
Heute, nach 450 Jahren, leben wieder Cistercienserinnen im Kloster. |

Mary’s of Helfta Convent
The
Cistercian convent St. Mary was established in 1229 by Count
Burchard von Mansfeld. It was dissolved in1542 during the
Reformation. In 1998, reconstruction work began and today Cistercian
nuns are now living in the convent for the first time in 450 years.
